Fundraiser for our Association!

I want to encourage you to use a Christmas sale at Louisiana Nursery.  We are registered with them so twenty per cent of what you spend will come right back to us.  We think this is a great way to pay for the flags we put up in the summer.  I like to give amaryllis bulbs/plants as Christmas gifts and their ornaments and other decorations are too beautiful to resist!  I attended last year's Christmas sale and the food was wonderful and the demonstrations were great!  It was a fun way to shop.  Wreaths, bows, garlands, ribbons and silks will be 20% off.  You can shop at any of their four locations - just give the cashier code 8033 when checking out to make sure we are credited.  The festivities are from 4-8 p.m. Nov. 11th.

Refreshments, door prizes, and demonstrations of decorating techniques and tricks will be available.

I hope you will think of our neighborhood and do some shopping at Louisiana Nursery on Nov. 11th from 4-8 p.m. Give the cashier code 8033 when you check out to make sure 20% of your purchase is credited to us.

Meeting with Councilwoman on Recent Burglaries in Area

Our councilwoman, Alison Cascio, is holding a meeting to discuss the recent burglaries in our area.  Please read Nancy Curry's email below for details.  It is imperative that we have as many representatives at this meeting as possible to ensure drastic action is taken to reduce or eliminate the break-ins.

Dear Neighbors,
I am forwarding to you information from Councilwoman, Alison Cascio, on a very important meeting regarding the many burglaries in our district (District 11).  It is vitally important that we present a huge turn out for this meeting.  I would like everyone who attends to look for me there so we can present ourselves as a group.

If you know of neighbors who do not have computers, please pass this information on to them.

If you are a block captain/caller, please inform your block by phone in addition to this email.  If you want, you can copy this email and place it on doors.

Please help me get the word out about this important meeting and please:  Everyone attend!!!!

Thanks to all who can help with this effort.
Nancy Curry

We encourage you, your board members, and any interested residents to attend.

Flags & Dues

Hello, neighbors!  I hope you're all enjoying the flags lining our streets now.  Thank you to the volunteers that helped to hang them.  As always, we'll be looking for volunteers to take them down.  If you're interested in helping, please contact Martha at 266-9865.

Please remember that dues are currently due.  Less than half of our usual members have paid 2010 dues.  Your $50 covers the calendar year and pays for the following benefits:

1.  Police patrols (you may request the actual police patrol logs at any time from Nancy Curry at 925-1674 or your block captain)
2.  Protection of property value by fighting rezoning.  Nancy attends numerous community meetings each month to find out about possible rezoning requests and then works with our local representatives to ensure they will not negatively affect our neighborhood
3.  Emergency alerts.  You will be notified by your preferred method (email, phone, etc.) when there has been  suspicious activity in our area.
4.  Flags to honor veterans.  Each year we have to replace flags that are damaged.  While a small portion of dues covers those replacements, we will always accept additional contributions specifically to cover flag costs.
5.  Web page covering neighborhood news.
